Start Here!

Each day of the festival follows the same general pattern: a welcome video, classes, “local exploration,” dinner, and the evening entertainment.

Subscribe to Craftsy

To take part in one of the recommended classes for the day, you will need a subscription to Craftsy.com. Every day there will be three recommended classes for you to choose from. There are even free classes available for you to take instead if you do not want to subscribe.

Subscribe to CuriosityStream

CuriosityStream is a streaming service like Netflix that focuses entirely on documentaries. Their documentaries have high production values, are quality copies, stream beautifully (as high as 4K if you opt for that), and are commercial-free. Each afternoon will have documentary recommendations from both YouTube and CuriosityStream, so it is not a requirement that you subscribe to CuriosityStream, but the option is there if you would like an upgraded streaming experience. If you subscribe through one of the CuriosityStream links on the website, your purchase will help support the festival at no additional cost to you.

Decide on Your Classes

Take a look at the list of recommended classes, along with a general idea of the required materials. Then, go to Craftsy.com and search for your classes. Check the “resources” section under the classes you choose. That is where you will find all the patterns and supply lists. Make a list of the actual supplies you need and stash dive or order from your local yarn store!

Prepare for Dinner

Download the daily shopping lists for eight days of dinners and desserts from our host countries and pick up what you need on your next shopping trip!

Register for the Live Event on May 8!

Irene Waggener, author of Keepers of the Sheep: Knitting in Morocco’s High Atlas and Beyond, will join us for a special live event on May 8 at 4 pm eastern time. Register to attend the event here.

At the event, Irene will teach us how to knit a hat that fits using the yarn and needles we have and our bodily proportions, rather than a pattern, to guide us. Prepare for the event by casting on the hat ahead of time!
